Strategically Resourced Provision

At Wigton Infant and Nursery school we have 5 strategically resourced provision places where we have specialist staff to provide care and learning for children with SEND.

In our school we promote inclusive practise wherever possible so that all children can feel included and be supported to learn alongside their peers.

Our specialist unit called 'the whitebeam room' allows children to have bespoke learning in a smaller environment with highly trained staff.

Our 'blossom room' allows for children to have their own learning space away from the classroom but provides more inclusive practice for children in KS1.

We also provide:

  • access to a physical play room
  • sensory room facilities
  • opportunities for swimming lessons
  • makaton as a way of communicating
  • changing facilities
  • engagement with external services such as Speech and Language services, Early years advisors, Educational Psychologists & Specialist Teachers.
