Wigton Infant School

Welcome

Welcome to Wigton Infant School where learning, laughter and love are evident in every aspect of our school and are encompassed in all we do.

Our school is a very inclusive school and is also "Strategically Resourced" for children with Special Needs.

Every child is welcome and valued as an individual.  All children are taught, supported and cared for by a highly skilled, caring and enthusiatic staff who are committed to high quality teaching and learning.  We ensure curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of each child as an individual.

We have a superb, safe, secure indoor and outdoor learning environment, which alongside teaching, enables children to learn in fun, practical, exciting ways and engages their curiosity and natural love of learning .

I hope you enjoy looking at our website and are able find out about all we do.

Please contact us if you would like to know any more information or to make an appointment to look around.

Best Wishes

Mr Geoff Norman

Forest School- Miss Parry's Class20Jan2020

The class will be split into two groups, one group going out in the morning and the other going out after lunch. The sessions will be led by a member of our forest school team assisted by either the class teacher or one of the class teaching assistants. Your child will need to come to school wearing suitable old clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty (see clothing list on back of letter), and some shoes/trainers to wear in school. Please let me know if they have not got any of these things, especially wellies and sun hats, as we do have some spares in school. Clothing Forest School sessions take place in all types of weather (with the exception of high winds) so it is important that the children (and any adult helpers) have appropriate clothing and footwear. As our weather is so changeable the list below is just a guide. Willow Class Beach School Group 120Jan2020

Your child’s morning Forest School session will be replaced with a Beach School session on Monday 20th January 2020. Arrangements for clothing etc. are just the same as for Forest School, but because the session is longer we will be taking a packed lunch with us. Please make sure you select the packed lunch option on Lunchshop for this day. We have noticed that several parents had already ordered their child’s lunch, in which case you will need to re-select the packed lunch option. We had some very successful visits last term with the Year 2 children and they can’t wait until it’s their turn to go again, so I am sure the Year 1 children will enjoy it just as much. We will be travelling by minibus to Wolsty Banks, near Silloth, and spending the morning exploring, digging, beachcombing and having a lot of fun.
