Welcome to Wigton Nursery and Infant School

At Wigton Nursery and Infant School we are committed to providing an inclusive, holistic education for all of our students. This means that we care equally for the following:

  • Each child strives and attains their own personal success,
  • Children are given the right opportunities to develop academically, socially and
  • Have access to a range of opportunities through the wider and after school enrichment curriculum offer

We have a tradition of high quality and high achievement in many fields. We take pride in the development of a success culture within a well-resourced environment where children can flourish whatever their individual strengths, during the earliest stage of their learning journey.  We are committed to a partnership with parents and the local community and we believe that together there is no limit to what we can achieve. We thrive on high aspirations and expectations, for both children and staff.

The timeless traditional values of good discipline, courtesy and respect are important to us; equally we recognise that we live in the present and so we provide a modern up to date curriculum which is appropriate for young children in the 21st century, meeting their individual needs and relative to their ability; and finally we are forward looking, recognising that we are preparing children for the world of tomorrow, starting them on the path to becoming lifelong learners.

We have a superb, safe, secure indoor and outdoor learning environment, which alongside teaching, enables children to learn in fun, practical, exciting ways and engages their curiosity and natural love of learning .

I hope you enjoy looking at our website and are able find out about all we do. If you are a parent of a child already in school and would like a paper copy of anything on this website, please contact the school office and we will be able to provide it free of charge.

Our school day starts at 8.40am and ends at 3.10pm, please contact us if you would like to know any more information or to make an appointment to look around.
