EYFS New Starter Information

 

We want to wish you all a very warm welcome to Wigton Nursery and Infant School. Choosing the right school for your child is a really important decision. If you are a current parent or if you are new to our school community and your child/children are joining our Nursery and/or Reception classes rest assured that we have a robust transition plan in place so your child/children will have plenty of opportunities to get to know our school before they start

Admission to Reception

At Wigton Nursery & Infant School we have two reception classes and can therefore admit up to 60 children each year. Details of how places are allocated can be found here.

Local Authority advice about applying for a school place can be found here.

Cumbria Local Authority decides our admissions. Admissions Team members are always happy to advise parents and carers about applying for school places. You can contact them on 01228 221582. They can also advise you about being placed on our waiting list for places if none are available in your child's year group.

The deadline for applying for a school place for September 2024 is 15th January 2024.

Admissions to Nursery

Nursery application forms are available from the school office or can be downloaded below. Completed forms should be returned directly to school. You will also need to provide proof of your address and your child's date of birth. Please contact the office for deadlines on returning forms below.

Children born between 1 April 2020 and 31 August 2020 can receive their funded hours from September 2023.

Children born between 1 September 2020 and 31 December 2020 can receive their funded hours from January 2024.

Children born between 1 January 2021 and 31 March 2021 can receive their funded hours from April 2024.
